Jeg er lige vendt hjem fra en tur til New York, hvor jeg lige nu er med på en udstilling i Tribeca. Det var en dejlig og berigende oplevelse. New York er en skøn by.
The pop-up show, called “Nordic Expressions,” is the first exhibit run byNordicArtwork.com, an online gallery of Scandinavian artists recently launched by Kirsten Wildfang, a Danish ex-pat who lives in New York.
“Selected for craftsmanship and international appeal, the artists represented by NordicArtwork.com bring the clean lines of Nordic art to American interiors,” the company said in a statement. “The various artists featured here have inherited the subtle, painterly technique of Vilhelm Hammershoj, the brilliant light of the Skagen painters and the intense emotional palette of Edvard Munch.”
To enhance the Scandinavian experience, light bites and cocktails will be provided by trendy Danish restaurant Aamanns-Copenhagen, which sits nextdoor to Gateway, at events throughout the show’s week-long run. Several of the artists will also be on hand to discuss their paintings.
The paintings cost several thousand dollars apiece, but viewing the artwork is free.
